Important information about what we do — and, just as importantly, what we don't.
● Last updated: 18 August 2026
Abalos Migration is a referral service, not a migration agency. We are not registered migration agents and we are not Australian legal practitioners. We do not provide immigration assistance, migration advice or legal advice. We connect you with independent professionals who are qualified to provide those services.
1. We are not registered migration agents or lawyers
Under the Migration Act 1958 (Cth), only a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner may lawfully provide “immigration assistance”. This includes advising you on your visa options or eligibility, preparing or helping to prepare a visa application, and representing you in your dealings with the Department of Home Affairs or a review body.
Abalos Migration does none of these things. We do not assess your eligibility, recommend a visa subclass for your circumstances, prepare or lodge applications, or represent you. If you need any of that, it must come from the registered migration agent or Australian legal practitioner you engage.
2. Information on this website is general only
Everything published on this website is general information intended to help you understand the migration landscape and decide whether to seek professional help. It:
- does not take account of your individual circumstances, objectives or needs;
- is not immigration assistance, migration advice or legal advice;
- should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a registered professional; and
- may not be current — Australian migration law, policy, occupation lists, points thresholds and processing times change frequently and often without notice.
Any references to visa subclasses (such as 189, 190, 491, 482, 186, 820/801, 309/100, 500, 485, 188 or 888) are provided as general descriptions of pathways only. Whether any pathway is available to you depends entirely on your circumstances and the law as it applies at the time.
You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of anything on this website without first obtaining advice from a registered migration agent or Australian legal practitioner.
3. Professionals we refer you to are independent
The migration agents and lawyers in our network are independent third parties. They are not our employees, partners, agents or representatives. We do not control or supervise their work, and we are not responsible for the advice they give or the services they provide.
Any engagement you enter into is a separate contract between you and that professional, on the terms you agree with them.
We make referrals in good faith based on the information you give us, but we give no warranty as to the suitability, quality, timeliness or results of any professional's services.
4. Please verify registration yourself
We refer only to professionals we understand to be MARA-registered migration agents or admitted Australian legal practitioners. Even so, we strongly encourage you to verify this independently before you engage anyone and before you pay any money:
- Migration agents: check the agent's MARN on the official register at mara.gov.au.
- Lawyers: check admission and practising status with the legal admission authority or law society in the relevant state or territory.
5. No guarantee of any outcome
Visa decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs and, on review, by the Administrative Review Tribunal and the courts. Nobody can guarantee a visa grant, a processing time, or any other particular result — and you should treat any such guarantee, from any provider, as a serious warning sign.
Nothing on this website is a promise or prediction that your application will succeed.
6. Referral fee disclosure
Our service is free to you. Where you engage a professional we refer you to, we may receive a referral fee or commission from that professional. This gives us a commercial interest in referrals proceeding, and we disclose it so you can weigh it up. It does not change our commitment to referring you only to appropriately registered professionals, but you should always make your own assessment of who to engage.
7. Third-party links
This website may link to third-party websites, including Australian Government websites. Those links are provided for convenience only. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, and linking does not imply endorsement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded, Abalos Migration is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website, your reliance on information published on it, or the acts or omissions of any professional we refer you to. Our full liability terms are set out in our Terms of Use.
9. Official sources
For authoritative, up-to-date information about Australian visas, always refer to the Department of Home Affairs at immi.homeaffairs.gov.au. To check a migration agent's registration, use mara.gov.au.
